Salesforce.com is bumping up its investment in Canada, with plans to open two new data centres as more Canadian businesses look to the cloud.
Firms such as Manulife Financial Corp, Canada’s largest life insurer, and Ski-Doo maker Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) are using Salesforce.com, the company said in a statement Wednesday.
“Canada is a critical part of our global strategy and our plans for Canadian data centres reflect that,” said Mike Rosenbaum, executive vice-president of platform for salesforce.com in a statement. “This increased commitment reflects the fact that more and more leading Canadian companies are turning to salesforce.com to connect with their customers in a whole new way.”
Salesforce.com did not disclose the amount of its Canadian investment, but said the two data centres will support the company’s cloud computing services in Canada.
