Large delegations are one thing, taxpayers picking up the tab for the rich is another

While I completely agree with taxpayers paying for our elected officials to build diplomatic and trade relationships around the world; I do question why Canadian taxpayers are picking up the tab for private sector business leaders.   Whether the trip to be China, India, Israel, Senegal etc, when wealthy individuals from the private sector are asked to be part of a delegation, they should pay their own way.

The PMO owes taxpayers full disclosure about the total cost of paying for such a large delegation for this and any trip!  It is the lack of disclosure that hurt this government in 2014, and is one of the reasons why citizens are more skeptical of government than ever before.   Let’s try to be 100% transparent!!
